I love this time of year. I love the anticipation. I love the beauty of the decorations. I love the snow. I love the advent readings and the songs. I love the beauty of the story - God became babe and all so we could be saved. And I am challenged to look forward to the return of Jesus. This time He's not coming as a baby but as a glorious KING OF KINGS! Today we sang this song and the lyrics just spoke so powerfully to me. I'm going to look for Jesus in all of the festivities and celebrate the hope He gives. Come, thou long expected Jesus,
born to set thy people free;
from our fears and sins release us,
let us find our rest in thee.
Israel's strength and consolation,
hope of all the earth thou art;
dear desire of every nation,
joy of every longing heart.
Born thy people to deliver,
born a child and yet a King,
born to reign in us forever,
now thy gracious kingdom bring.
By thine own eternal spirit
rule in all our hearts alone;
by thine all sufficient merit,
raise us to thy glorious throne.
On another note, I can't believe how darling my daughter is
and how much fun it is to be her mom! Here is a link to a
whole bunch of recent pictures.
